CHARACTER
Name: 'Stiles' Stilinski
Canon: Teen Wolf
Age: Not established in canon, assumed to be 17.
History: Character page
Point in canon: 2x12 "Evolve". After Jackson and Lydia reunite, and Stiles tries to cover up his disappointment by claiming his tears are due to a scratch on his Jeep.
Window Location: Stiles' bedroom window.
Universe: Teen Wolf synopsis broken down into season one and season two.
Abilities: Stiles is very human and therefore limited. However, he does have some useful skills.
Possessions: Other than a backpack with some school books, his Macbook Pro, keys to the crappiest Jeep in existence, he really has only the clothes on his back. And his cellphone, which he often tosses onto beds or couches in frustration whenever Scottis too busy making out with Allison doesn't answer his calls.
Personality: Stiles is something of a spaz. A flailing, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Adderall using, energetic spaz with an enormous ability to calm his nerves in the face of danger. This might grate on a few nerves, but also enables him to find humor even in the most terrifying of situations. Like... having to deal with your best friend wolfing out and trying to eat your face off.
He's intelligent, although more of a scholar of the esoteric rather than of more normal academia, and like any good nerd, he knows a lot more about mythical creatures and the supernatural than is typical for a teenager in lacrosse. But then again, he's also a part of a online community that battles mythical creatures and spends more time on the bench in lacrosse than off it to be considered normal among his peers, so really he's just a huge dork.
Speaking of, despite all the enormous bigger-than-high-school-life issues he frequently deals with -- and deals with well for someone his age -- he's still bothered by little things. He deals with frustration of having to be Robin to Scott's Batman, still obsesses over his unrequited and longtime crush, and still gets anxious about the outcome of lacrosse games (although more specifically over whether or not his best friend will shapeshift on the field). It seems that despite the fact that he's confronted with his desire to become a werewolf and yet chooses to remain human seems that some part of him firmly believes that lycanthropy is a curse. While he supports and helps his friend through it, some part of him believes it's wrong and nothing good will ultimately come of it. Lycanthropy, while it has its perks, does put others in danger -- Its likely Stiles recognizes that accepting the bite would be a completely selfish act and potentially a reckless one.
Another facet of his personality would be how he seems to be the glue that keeps his friends together, even the antagonistic 'alliance' he has with Derek Hale... the close relationship he has with his father, and the way he seems to become the caretaker (or den mother) of a pack of misfits comprised of humans and werewolves alike. I'd like to think that this mentality grew out of a need to care for his father when his mother passed away, both of them taking her death very hard -- hard enough for Stiles to suffer from panic attacks (a fact he shared with Scott in confidence when he recognized that his best friend was also suffering from the same symptoms). The other trait I believe contributes to this is his unshakable loyalty -- unshakable because even when Scott betrays him by making out with his long-time crush, he still remains his friend.
Stiles is very caring, despite the fact he attempts to sound tough or hardlined in his initial refusal or reluctance to help Derek or others, even going so far as to suggest they leave Derek to die, but in the end this appears to be a half-hearted attempt and he eventually does the right thing. Still, his relationship with Derek seems to be largely cooperative and sometimes antagonistic, Stiles only seems to get along with him for the greater good or at Scott's request.
He's been crushing on one Lydia Martin since the third grade, and knows more about her than she seems aware of and even seems to make an effort to conceal. Her intellect is one such trait, which he points out is remarkably high considering the ditzy facade she portrays. This suggests that when he's obsessed with something -- or someone -- he'll really try to dig in deep and truly understand more than just what everyone else sees.
With strangers, Stiles often responds to them as he does with any unfamiliar situation -- wary, but is able to dynamically change as the situation befits it. He approaches even the most bizarre people or circumstances with humor or sarcasm as a means of self defense, keenly aware of his own shortcomings and fragility, and isn't afraid of pointing out when someone has the upper hand -- as if pointing out how intimidating something or someone could be would somehow lessen it's hold on him. He's clever, and knows when diplomacy or sobriety can work in his favor, or when honey can be more effective than vinegar in a conversation. He is still just a teenager, so there are many times when awkwardness or insecurity wins out and he's left assuming the role of class clown or butt of everyone's jokes. Lastly, he's no stranger to the supernatural, so there is little that will truly freak him out beyond an ability to communicate, and he's remarkably calm in the face of terrifying situations or people.
Thread Sample: Meme thread about Derek's and Stiles' weird... frenemy relationship.
Prose Sample: If there was one thing Stiles had a lot of practice doing and yet still hated doing with every fiber of his being, it was waiting.
He waited for detention to end, he waited for the full moon to burn out of Scott's system, he waited for Lydia to dance with him since the third grade. He was a master of waiting. But that didn't stop him from tapping on any surface on hand, glancing around the room and staring into the face of every clock within sight.
Waiting was a lot easier when you weren't doing it in the eerily quiet halls of the high school -- because let's face it, every school looks creepy at night, and you're a liar if you deny it. Any light from the full moon seemed to be dampened by a blanket of cool mist that coiled thick round his ankles, making his skin crawl and thinking that perhaps now would be a good time to forego with this waiting outside b.s. and break into the school itself. But his feet wouldn't move, and there was that strange quiet anticipation... that reverent hush you got when huge flakes of fluffy snow would seem to fall endlessly from the sky, only instead of snow, there was hard dirt and cement and he could swear he just heard the creak and snap of dry bone.
"Okay, this place is pretty much the opposite of awesome." Stiles muttered to himself, voice quaking with the unraveling of his nerves. "No, no -- this is the unadulterated, unabridged definition of creepy."
Silence answered him, which only seemed to fan the flames of his own imagination, enough that he knew that if he didn't stop letting his imagination go wild, let it go on whispering doubt and anxiety and other nonsense like how the fog seemed to be closing in on him --
Okay, yeah. He's totally freaking out.
Stiles began shaking out his limbs, and gives himself a sobering shake of his head, followed by two slaps and a quiet wince of pain. Okay, let's keep it together, Stilinski.
"Screw this, and thank you, Scott, for leaving my ass hanging in the breeze. I'm getting outta here."
Fumbling with his cellphone with shaking hands, he nearly drops it entirely when he hears a low growl come from somewhere behind him. Eyes widening, a half whimper catches inside his throat. He doesn't bother with such horror movie cliches as turning around to see whatever it was stalking him -- he's seen too many of those to know better than to sit still -- he just put his head down and ran.
Plans: I'd like to get a feel for the game before making any plans!

DÆMON
Name: Abigail (Abby)
Sex: Female
Form: Vizsla, a large dog with grey-blue eyes and a short-haired coat of light caramel colored fur.
Additional notes: Given Stiles' obsessively investigative nature, Abby has exceptionally keen senses, and is able to detect minor inflections in tones and heart rates to help sense lies, detect subtle pheromones or other smells, etc. This is not, however, completely foolproof.
Why this form: Like Stiles, the dog is a completely normal companion to have, and this breed in particular is intensely loyal, inquisitive and energetic -- all traits that Stiles is known for. Known often affectionately by owners of the breed as 'velcro dogs', they often stick close by those they bond with... just like Stiles tends to stay close to his friends, or even with those who he's bonded with on a less friendly level... like Derek, for example, who he helps despite their awkward and often adversarial interactions. His daemon's form is chosen also for its reputation as a gun dog, the breed is well known for being perceptive and inquisitive... an excellent match for Stiles often dogged pursuit of the truth (no pun intended).

- Brainy - He tends to think outside the box and is often the character on the show to make necessary leaps of logic to progress the storyline, although he's still only human and sometimes makes the wrong assumption. He's also pretty good at researching even more obscure topics.
- Police Procedures - He knows how to game the system, at least enough to know how to steal a prison transport van and listen in on police code. Not... that it will probably matter here, but he might pick up more easily on security procedures by knowing what to look for.
- Voice of Reason - Stiles seems to have an almost unbelievable capacity for keeping his wits about him in dangerous situations, and often voices the more sensible (even if unpopular) course of action or by pointing out how instinctively blocking a door to a room is pointless given the fact one wall is entirely made up of windows.
- Manipulative - Whether its putting a shirtless Derek in the sights of a lonely Danny to get him to do him a favor or getting his father drunk in order to squeeze him for details on a case, Stiles isn't above using manipulation to get what he wants, although his sense of morality does limit this.
